Photo Album | Interstate Navratri/Pooja Procession
In connected with the Navarathri/Pooja Festival this procession happens every year. It happens 10 days before Navarathri/Pooja. It started from the period of Travancore rulers and still it follows. This inter-state (Old Travancore region) procession starts from Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu to Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. The police of both states are participating in this procession. Here three Gods idols are taking part in it. They are Kumaraswamy(Lord Subramaniya) from Kumarakovil at Velimalai, Goddess Saraswathy Devi from Padmanabhapuram and Goddess Munnoottinanga from Sucheendram Thanumalaya Perumal Temple.
During the Navarathri/Pooja Festival, these idols will be kept in different temples. Kumaraswamy at Aryasala Subramaniya Temple, Goddess Saraswathy Devi at Navarathri mandapam nearby Padmanabhaswami Temple and Goddess Munoottinanga at Chenthitta Devi temple in Thiruvananthapuram.
After Navarathri these idols will be returned to their proper temples in Kanyakumari District.
